Kuala Lumpur, or KL to the locals, is an enjoyable place to visit. I have been to KL frequently typically as a stopover to somewhere different in the world. In truth, the initially time I went to Kuala Lumpur I was on my way from China to Jakarta. I had never been there prior to and was fall in love with Malaysia for the first time. I only stayed six days but I make use of all the time I have in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
However, that very short time just wasn’t enough for me and I had to go back to KL again. When visiting Kuala Lumpur for holiday, there are many cheap hotels in Kuala Lumpur for visitors to make a hotel booking without worrying about having a lower standard of accommodation.
Actually KL is much cheaper than its nearest neighbor, Singapore. Singapore has become a very expensive place compared to other places in Asia. When I did a quick search of a hotel booking system in internet, I found that there are many reasonably priced hotels available in KL. KL is a large city these days and you have many hotel options available to you depending on which part of the city you stay.
For the first time visitors, I would advise them to stay in the “Golden Triangle” area, especially the famous shopping area of Bukit Bintang. If this is your first visit to Kuala Lumpur, then stay in the Bukit Bintang area but don’t forget about the rest of the KL. If you are going after cheap hotels in KL then Jalan ALor and north of the city centre are your best options.
Hotels in Jalan Alor are clean and inexpensive, which makes a good deal for anyone on a budget. Just research around on any online hotel reservation system. If you don’t need an onsite restaurant or swimming pool, then these hotels will suit you. Among the highly recommended budget hotel in Bukit Bintang is Apple Hotel.
Chinatown is walking distance from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur and close to most of the places tourists visit such as KL Tower, KLCC shopping complex, Petronas Towers, Bukit Bintang Road or Bintang Walk. It is also close to the transport hub of KL Sental Station.
When I stay in KL I prefer to stay near Bukit Bintang as there are good shopping malls, restaurants, bars and nightclubs in this area. This is a modern part of town but has a lot of history. Also it is not far to walk to the tourist office and lively Bukit Bintang.
