July is upon us and in Malaysia; the month of July is synonymous with one particular thing. Every year Muslims all around the world will spend a month fasting, an act of devotion to their religion and it is seen as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
During this time, Muslims will fast from dusk till the sun sets and are allowed to break their fast until the next dusk. It is then that many vendors come out to sell some of the most delicious local food in Kuala Lumpur. They usually pack an entire street with stalls otherwise known as the Ramadan Bazaars. Malaysia being a multi-cultured and diverse country, Muslims and non-Muslims alike comes out in full force to enjoy this local food in Kuala Lumpur.
